I don't agree that English is the most important subject to learn in school.
I think English is not the most important subject to learn in school because it doesn't help with anything, it just teaches you how to pronounce and spell.
there other subjects better than English cause it can help with your stuff.
Pigments are substances that give colour to things. They are used to give colour to all sorts of things like felts, paint, plastic, food, fabric, even animals and plants.
AIM- To separate the different pigments from ink using chromatography
HYPOTHESIS- What do you think will happen to your felt pen dot? What pigments do you think you will see? What will happen to the dot on the paper?
EQUIPMENT- Felt tip pen, filter paper strips, test tube, measuring cylinder, pencil.
method.
1- Draw a line across the filter paper in pencil, 5cm from the bottom.
2- Draw a coloured dot in the centre of the line.
3- Measure out 10mL of water and place in the test tube.
4- Place the filter paper in the test tube and fold over the side. MAKE SURE THE PENCIL LINE/ DOT IS NOT IN THE WATER.
5- Wait for 5 minutes and observe the results.
RESULTS- add a photo of your chromatography to your blog.
DISCUSSION-
When we did our chromatography experiment, we were trying to separate the pigments that make up the different felt pen ink colours.
-The pigments separate because each pigment has a different solubility (some dissolve more than others), which means some of them move faster and further than others.
